Re: The Insidious Harm of Spiritual Abuse
Thank you very much Breakfree, Guest and Dexter for this thread! I HIGHLY recommend the YouTube video that Dexter shared above! I have long wanted to see a post about the abuse of the scripture - “Obey your leaders…” - Heb 13:17 This scripture was quoted monthly if not more often in the year before ...

Theological Beatitudes
Blessed are the theologically homeless, for they do not find rest until God is all in all. Blessed are those theology spills from a pierced heart, for they are the consolation of God to God. Blessed are those who never confuse their own voice for God’s, for they can be trusted with their neighbour’s...

Re: Bill Johnson and the Bethel Movement
My original post was to highlight my surprise at Vic confessing he did not know about the NAR and Bill Johnson of Bethel in Redding, and what that said to me about his isolated position. Thank you guest for your thoughtful encouragement to be careful in what we share. Right on! When I originally loo...

Re: Bill Johnson and the Bethel Movement
Thank you for bringing this movement to the attention of Streetcar, BR. FYI about 10 years ago I looked into Bill Johnson / NAR / Bethel, because of the many young people leaving the CFs for AOG churches under their influence. I told Vic about this and he said he’d never heard of Bill J etc, and tha...

Re: Dispensationalism Star Messengers and Present Word
I posted up an excerpt of the sermon ‘Every Generation Needs to Sell All’ yesterday to see what others thought, before posting up what distressed me about it. Thank you to those who responded. You both wonderfully addressed my first issue which is the dragging in of scripture (here, 1Jn 1:3) to shov...

Re: Dispensationalism Star Messengers and Present Word
An excerpt from a sermon by Andrew Hay 17July 2022 EVERY GENERATION NEEDS TO SELL ALL “Selling all is the theme of the parable of the treasure in the field. Matt 13:44 Of course we have noted that the thing that he was joyfully selling to buy all, was the field. Let us look at the corresponding pass...

Re: What is Happening at BCF?
Oh Stargazer, - oh how awful and brutal indeed for those ones. Thank you for keeping us up to date. My observation in QLD was that dating (within the church of course) was allowed (?freely). BUT yes, to back up what you shared, relationships could nevertheless be terminated by the leaders when the c...

Re: Shunning
When you believe in a vicious, retributive, petulant, genocidal, harsh God because of a literalistic reading of the OT narrative, then that same behavior is justified as being godly. THEY (CF leaders) are worshipping the God of their imagination!! My lens is that Jesus is what God has to say about h...

Re: What is Happening at BCF?
Nice to see the well wishes re the marriage of Ian Barlow and Bronwyn. Since the topic was opened up and their names mentioned - I need to say that I have it on good authority that it was NOT arranged. I was told it by someone close to them that it was actually quite the opposite. Also, I have not s...

Re: Account activation issues
If you happened to know someone who you know is on Streetcar who could vouch for you, then clearly that would help. That worked for me. Otherwise I don’t know how they vet the genuine people.
All the best to you.
