Re: Vic Hall thinks he is the modern Apostle Paul

Vic certainly believes he is (or is at least in line) to be a last day one of the 12 apostles. But I think, deep down, Vic knows he's getting too old for that because: THE BCF website is now (for the first time) stating their belief in the '42 year period' of the end (= the 'last hour' prophetically...

Re: The Heresy of the Christian Fellowship and Pope Vic Halls' teachings.

Yep, more of the same stuff we experienced 1992-2016. It's the same every week for 25+ years. Elders instead of Christ to make it more 'grounded'. But instead it made it MORE mystical! When we left in 2016 the encouragement at the Friday morning prayer group I attended (which Ray Jackson Jnr attende...

For some reason I didn't get alerts from your replies folks! Thanks for your replies. I think I can say I agree with much of what you've all said. EXCEPT 1. Eschatology The pattern of a creative & redemptive week of history still makes sense to Jeff Hammond, myself and my creation scientist fath...

Re: The Heresy of the Christian Fellowship and Pope Vic Halls' teachings.

Yep, not a long bow to draw Faith re indulgences.. These guys are in big trouble. Have I told you all about the vision my father had of the leadership in 2012 (but didn't tell me until 2017)? He saw the elders, with long flowing hair and gowns, CHAINED together sitting side-by-side in coal carts hea...

Yep BAgel.

Good point about those special ones stepping on the heads of others on the way to become the next 'one'.
It really always seemed that way.

Re: The Heresy of the Christian Fellowship and Pope Vic Halls' teachings.

Yes Faith, this is what they implied, said and preached. It's just plain nuts. What they did was took some great teachings to themselves and made themselves the origin and master of it. And even at the local level MANY of the local elders would treat their own enclave the same way: I'm boss and have...

What do YOU think is CORRECT (& not well acknowledged by others) in the MCF/BCF teachings/culture?

Q. So, I'm still working out what I still believe after leaving Melbourne Christian Fellowship (MCF) in Nov 2016. What did they get right teaching & culture-wise that many other churches don't really acknowledge or practise properly? My thoughts? In addition to the basic Pentecostal teachings (w...

Re: How unique is BCF/MCF's brand of cultishness (especially the last 25 Vic Hall years)?

Yes, it was all so pathetic. It was all about always being judged. So everyone had to put on a show. There was no risk taking. That's when the Spirit left because only the natural performers could play a role. Us plebs were too risky to have a role. That song was Under, Under, Under His Mighty Wings...

Re: What role for churches in 21st century

A tough question Bagel . . I was surprised in reading Acts how many times goodness before God includes giving to the poor. So I really do think that is important. Sure today the government does a lot and, as always, many bring poorness on themselves. It's got to be a balance doesn't it? As long as w...

Interesting observations (and terminologies :) ) Bagel. Unfortunately, I can easily imagine these goings on (and saw some of these). As you point out, these guys gradually accepted the bizarre as normal and took on those traits themselves. Most of us plebs didn't get to see the full horror of it unl...
