Dawn Smith on leaving her parent’s church (cult)

Post by Bagel »

Hello All,

If you have 15 minutes, it’s worth looking at this gentle soul and how she found the courage to leave the church she grew up in.

Good one, Bagel!!!! :D :) ;)

I loved Dawn's gentle and deft sense of humour in getting really strong points across.

Her description of Cults and cult behaviour fits BCF/RFI like a glove, especially the need to strongly deny that a cult is a cult. Remember after "God of the Broken Hearts" was aired on '4 Corners' in 2008, that Vic spread the barefaced lie around the CFs that "an investigation had been held and BCF/RFI was found to be not a cult".No evidence or proof of who conducted or how this "investigation" was conducted was ever offered or found, but the lie was gobbled up by those who desperately needed to believe that "we weren't a cult!"

Her description of cult leaders and cult leader personality and behaviour fits the Great Bullfrog of the Samford Swamp so very comfortably.

Yep ... The hardest day of freedom is better than the best day in the cult ... Great comment and oh so true!

So may similarities with the xCF cult.
