To the silent majority who stay in CF but question many teachings that are not biblically based but VIC speak please consider moving to a healthier environment.
As more and more organisations ( media, ATO) are beginning to pay attention to the shunning practice, to the exclusiveness, to the spiritual abuse, to the questionable “charity status and to the many who have left that need mental health support due to this shunning practice, please consider leaving this destructive organisation. I know that many continue to weigh up the cost as there is always a risk of losing family. Please do not believe the narrative about ones who have left.
You may have been told they are lost, Rebellious, Cursed because they chose to leaveCF But that is not true. Most, Like myself, Have found excellent church communities where they have been able to flourish Be the person That God has called them to be.
We continually pray That you may be enabled by God To choose his ways and hear his voice firstly so that you can make those tough decisions

Re: Cnonsider your well-being and the well-being of your family
Yesterday I had tears and deep sorrow for what I was reading here on Streetcar.
Today I’ve been seeking God for some response.
Well, it’s more of a reflection than a response. Only God knows the hearts and minds of all. We trust in His sovereignty, but it doesn’t absolve us of a responsibility to speak up about abuse, false doctrines and the suffering of those who are powerless.
Here’s a quote I used in a letter I wrote to the elders over two decades ago.

Martin Niemöller
First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me
What is the difference between neutrality, indifference, and empathy?
Neutrality is the ability to see all sides of a situation and remain without opinion of affirmation or denouncement.
Indifference is an attitude of not caring one way or another.
Empathy is the ability to feel what others may be experiencing as if you were in that situation.

To Helen
What was the response from the eldership after they received and read this letter? Was it acknowledged by the elders

Dear Helen,
Thank you for your bravery in standing up for what Christianity really is and for being a true disciple of Jesus, despite the cost. While I cannot fully empathise with what you have been through, and continue to face, I can say with great certainty, that your actions have opened the eyes of many. Reading some of these posts must be very difficult, but your continued resolve and compassion has helped set captives free. For that we are thankful. But mostly, and I'm certain you will agree, we are thankful to God. Blessings.
